Theo Lang

Theo Lang is the name one of our astrologers writes under. He prefers it that way: the readings are his, the name is not. Every page on this site starts from a chart computed from real positions and real dates, and nothing is published without his review.
Before you quit, diagnose the problem
The question I start with
Not what career are you destined for. I do not think a birth chart contains a job title. I start with a more useful question: what exactly is making this work unsustainable?
My background
I have studied astrology for fifteen years. My first formal training was in Berlin, where I learned natal interpretation and traditional house technique. Later study in London focused on predictive cycles, transits and vocational symbolism. I then spent several years building a career-specific method around the second, sixth and tenth houses, the Midheaven, Saturn, Uranus and the timing signatures that often accompany promotion, burnout, redundancy, reinvention and departure.
The dataset
More than 4,120 career-focused charts and client conversations. Engineers who wanted to become teachers. Founders who secretly wanted jobs. Executives who did not hate work, only the version of themselves required to keep succeeding at it. People certain they needed to resign who actually needed boundaries. People certain they only needed a holiday who, in fact, needed to leave.
What I call the gift
Pattern separation. Career dissatisfaction is noisy. Money, status, exhaustion, identity, fear and boredom all speak at once. Over time I became good at separating them. A Uranian urge for freedom does not feel the same as Saturnian depletion. A second-house problem is not automatically a tenth-house problem. Sometimes the job is wrong. Sometimes the role is wrong. Sometimes the timing is wrong. Sometimes the life outside work has become so thin that work is being blamed for everything.
Why I think this helps
Because quitting is a decision, not a personality test. Astrology can add another layer of perspective, but I do not believe it should tell you to resign, stay, invest, retrain or take financial risk. Those decisions belong to you and, where needed, to qualified professional advice.
My standard
If an astrology reading cannot make the problem clearer, it has not earned the right to make the decision louder. Do not ask the chart to choose your job. Ask it to help you understand what kind of work problem you are actually trying to solve.
